Lockdown Learning Starting Tomorrow.
Kia ora whanau,
We will be getting into full swing with online learning from tomorrow. I know many have already been fully immersed in this. We will be exploring some other options and I will be doing live updates each day via Facebook.
Thanks to all the teachers who have been fully immersed in creating new ways to make this lockdown learning work for as many as we can.

I hope you are all staying safe in your bubbles and enjoying time with your families.
Term 2 kicks off again on Wednesday 15th April. This will be a new chapter in education and our teachers have been getting structures in place for learning. I have included a letter with links to some helpful sites.
You may also have seen a number of government initiatives that will further support learning at home.

Emergency School Dental details.
Dear Whanganui region Schools,Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, from 24th March 2020, Whanganui DHB Community Oral Health Services will be changing our model of care in line with recommendations made by the Ministry of Health and Dental Council of New Zealand.Until further notice, we will be able to only provide urgent care for enrolled children in the Whanganui region. This means we will not be carrying out examinations at schools from tomorrow. We have also cancelled all non-urgent appointments and will only provide urgent care that does not cause aerosol. The care provided may include assessment, x-ray, hand-excavation, temporary dressings, extractions, prescriptions as required.We will have a fixed dental clinic site open for children requiring relief of pain. Update on Collecting work for families.
Afternoon everyone,
We have had both a productive day online and also teachers connecting with families.
We have a variety of packs for our younger students ready to be collected by those who wish, from 9:00am- 11:00am
We also some UHT milk that needs to be used that will be available for people to take.
For the rest of the week, teachers will be trialing online platforms, sorting their families and getting ready to have a break as well. The holiday period is starting the 30th March through to 14th of April. I am encouraging teachers to have a break as well as they need to look after themselves and their families and we will be getting back online on the 15th of April.
We will be in the front office with packs for families that come in.
We will continue to communicate via facebook and on the school app via Kiwi schools.
