Update on Start of Year managing Covid:

Friday 28th January Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānua, There are exciting times ahead. Come Tuesday the 1st of February we will enter another interesting year for education and for our whole community. I have waited to send information about how we will be starting the year until we have the

Rongohea Te Hau Whanau involvment/hui- postponed today

We would really like some whanau voice around what cultural perspectives you value and have an opportunity to co-construct some understanding about what is important for Māori. Tuesday the 25th of October at 5:00pm in the staffroom we would like your imput.  This will help us better understand how we can cater for Māori and essentially all our tamariki.

Today’s session postponed.

Pet day Thursday.

Kia ora Whanau,

Our fingers are crossed for PET Day on Thursday. Attached schedule. These times are approximate and we may run ahead or behind time depending on judging.

If you have changed pets can you please complete the entry form which is attached. Can this be completed by tomorrow.

There is also a chance to enter a team of parents (4 per team) in a fun relay around the sports ground that each class has created a challenge.

We will sort entries for this event on the day.

Pet Day Consultation

Kia ora all,

With all the rain we have had recently, the backfield is absolutely sodden.  The forecast for the coming week is looking like there is more rain coming, so holding Pet Day at the end of next week is probably not a viable option.

We would like your feedback as to whether or not you would like Pet Day to go ahead for the end of the first week of Term 4.  We understand this is not ideal for those who are wanting to wean lambs.  If you could respond to the questionnaire below, this will help us decide whether we postpone or cancel Pet Day for this year.

Ski Trip Cancelled

Kia Ora Whanau,

I had sent emails out but am aware some people may not be receiving the emails:

Kia ora Whanau,

Many of you will be aware of the snow season on Mt Ruapehu coming to a sudden halt last week.

We have been in constant communication with Tukino Ski Field and while they remain very optimistic about getting some spring snow storms they have lost all of their snow base at present.

With this in mind and knowing what is even available at Whakapapa and Turoa we are going to make the hard decision early and cancel the Ski experience for 2022. While this is disappointing I feel it is the best decision, making sure the students get the best experience possible.

We appreciate there are students who have been waiting two years to get to the snow and it just seems we have had rotten luck with Covid in 2021 and now warm weather.

We will look at setting aside a date for 2023 and will work on gaining some fundraising opportunities to support this trip in the future. Those who have funds from the previous fundraising could be transferred to end of year camps. Please let me know if this is what you would like to do with the fundraised money.

Ngā mihi
